A native of Uniontown, at the beautiful Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, chief ranch hand Jeff Buchko attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. Widowed after the untimely death of his beautiful wife Robin in 2008 he became the single father of two awesome son’s Judson who attends The University of Chicago on a four year scholarship and soon will be graduating with dual degrees in Mathematics and Philosophy ! Bradley who now resides in Portsmouth Va and recently graduated from high school !
After college he started his career as a responsibly results driven tourism / hospitality professional working with all levels of hotel properties from four diamond resort hotels to the economy class and all major franchise organizations, tourism markets, and food & beverage establishments. Blessed to have worked with HDG Hotels of Ocala Florida, a dynamic and growing hotel group ,where their Passion is" Brilliance in the Basics" The previous 16 years were with a hotel management group in Columbia, SC , IMIC Hotels, with the majority of that time in the roll of Vice President of Hotel Operations and Sales. Jeff would’ describe himself as “sales and marketing obsessed” with a particular forte and history of bringing all assets under his watch responsibly above fair market share and performance. He served on a variety of industry and community tourism boards and committees, Including as a proud member on the Board of Directors of the Dunnellon Chamber of Commerce as well as The Friends of Rainbow Springs State Park ! Relocating with the boys in 2017 to Dunnellon / Rainbow Springs FLA where he was introduced to horse ranch’s and ranch owners in the area and after his son’s went off to school and Jeff stepped away from his hospitality career , he made the decision to buy a ranch property near Dunnellon his adopted hometown ! From there his love of these majestic beauties became a passion ! He also became familiar with the need for rehoming horses throughout mid Florida for a variety of reasons. Boomtown Ranch is currently the home for five horses with all residents receiving the love and care they deserve ! We welcome you to come meet our family and look forward to seeing you soon !
At Boomtown Ranch, we pride ourselves on offering an authentic ranch experience. Our horses are all relocated and repurposed beautiful gentle giants that were looking for a new place to call home . We are a nonprofit so there’s no fee’s but we do accept donations to the food fund of these gorgeous creatures ! And thank you ! We are located in rural beautiful Dunnellon Fl on The Florida nature coast and near Ocala Fl the horse capital of the world !
